Childcare services are available on campus at St. Francis Xavier University.

St. FX Early Childhood Education Centre is a licensed facility operated by Cormier’s Play & Learn. It is licensed for 55 seats, 9 available for infants beginning at 3 months, with the remaining seats available for toddlers and preschoolers up to the age of 6 years.

The centre operates Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The centre is located at 2402 Camden Loop, Mount St. Bernard, with the main entrance off of Hillcrest Street.

Tuition is $160.00/week per child. Parents are encouraged to apply for subsidy through the Department of Community Services. For more information about subsidies please contact Allura Fitzsimmons at (902)-893-6167.

Registration forms can be picked up at the centre or emailed at your request. A $25.00 non-refundable deposit is required when you register.

Please apply early as we do have a waiting list. Students enrolled at the university will have first priority. Any available seats will be held open for students until July 15. Following students, faculty and staff have the next priority. If you have questions regarding the application process please phone the centre.

Due to the waiting list, parents requiring full time childcare will be given priority. Seats will be offered to parents requiring part-time services if seats are available.
