The International Conference on Anglo-American Idealism will be held at the Olympic Centre for Philosophy and Culture in Pyrgos of Elia (which is in Peloponnese or Peloponissos) Greece, 20th-25th August 2003. The Conference is organised in association with the British Idealism Specialist Group of the Political Studies Association of the United Kingdom and the R. G. Collingwood Society.

The registration fee, which is not refundable, is: * £180 * £160 (retired, people working part-time) * £120 (students, unemployed) The registration fee is explained in detail on the Registration Form (click here).

1. At the conference

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR STAY IN PYRGOS

For your stay in Pyrgos during the Conference, you should contact directly the Olympia Travel Tours and Congress and ask for the reservations yourselves. You should mention that you are a participant in the International Conference on Anglo-American Idealism and the names of the Conference organisers (Stamatoula Panagakou and Leonidas Bargeliotes) in order to have the special rates and services. All the reservations should be at the Ionion Sea Hotel. The coach will transport all the conference delegates twice a day from the Ionion Sea Hotel to the Olympic Centre for Philosophy and Culture (which is the Conference Hall). You should book rooms for the nights of 20^th / 21^st/ 22^nd/ 23^rd/ and 24^th August 2003 (5 nights in total). Please note that we arrive in Pyrgos in the afternoon of 20^th August and leave Pyrgos in the morning of 25^th August. Questions related to details concerning room booking arrangements, payment and any other information you wish to have about accommodation during the Conference should be addressed to the people at the Olympia Travel Tours and Congress.

2.In Athens

The participants of the Conference will arrive in Athens and leave from Athens. We will go from Athens to Pyrgos (and return from Pyrgos to Athens after the end of the Conference) by coach - this arrangement will be provided by the Conference organisers. The coach will leave Athens on 20^th August 2003 at 9.00 am. The coach will depart from Pyrgos on 25^th August 2003 at 9.00 am. The trip takes about 4-4.30 hours (it depends on the traffic). The Conference organisers cannot be held responsible if the trip takes a bit more than 4.30 hours. You are advised to stay in Athens the night before the Conference (19^th August 2003), but this is absolutely optional.

If you stay in Athens the night before the Conference, you should make your own room reservations. The Conference organisers have arranged special rates and services (for the night of 19^th August and for the night of 25^th August) with three hotels in Athens. These hotels are: Park Hotel, Hotel Stanley, and Hotel Cypria. Please note that the coach from Athens to Pyrgos will depart from Hotel Stanley. So, if you book either with the other two hotels or with other hotels of your own choice, you must be outside Stanley Hotel at 9.00 am on 20^th August 2003. If you book with either of the three suggested hotels, you must mention that you are a participant in the International Conference on Anglo-American Idealism in order to get the special rates that have been arranged.
